Top 10 of 2018

Hello and thanks for stopping by

I thought that seeing as 2018 is fast coming to an end I would have a look back over the last year and share with you my favourite layouts from the year.

Its been a wonderful year full of creativity.  I have enjoyed teaching many classes and making new friends.

Next year is looking at being another terrific year as I start my design team work for the wonderful Dusty Attic.  I must say I am super excited but also a little nervous.  Its been a little while since I have been on a DT!

Ok so here are my favourites 10 layouts for 2018

Mintay papers - oh so pretty!  I did tend to go a little overboard with this but I just loved how it all came together and I love the pic of my kids with their cousin.  Was just a special time.

A little mixed media!  Who would of thought.  This one I taught as a class and I just had the best time using different mediums.  Kinda proved to myself that while I am very much a clean scrapper I can dabble in mixed media.

Ahhh beautiful Celeb8 papers.  I think its the pop of blue on this page that makes the whole thing just come together.

Perfectly match photos make this page and all those pretty flowers and bows.

Cocoa Vanilla - Always put out a great boy range.  I loved working with this collection and teamed with a little Dusty Attic Chipboard and it all just works!

Another layout with Cocoa Vanilla.

This one was a mix of bits and pieces.  I used my cameo to cut my stars and then just picked up a bunch of left over stuff laying around on my table.  Love how this turned out.

Another using a cut file.  I have really enjoyed using my cameo.  Still don't know half of what it can do but I love what I do know!  Hoping to teach this as a class early next year.

Love the super soft colour palette of this layout.  Lilac Whispers from Kaisercraft again teamed with some Dusty Attic chippy.

And last but by no means least as I think this may be my absolute fav of 2018.  Another with Celebr8 product.  I love how this one turned out.

So that's it for another year.  Can't wait to see what the new year has in store for me.

Wishing you and all your loved ones a wonderful New Year!

Until next time

Family - Layout

Hello and thanks for stopping by.

Today I am sharing a layout I created using just bits and pieces I had laying around.

The chipboard gates, bird cage and doily as well as the title are all by Couture Creations.  The chipboard script is from Dusty Attic.

I teamed it up with some pretty papers from Stamperia and some flowers from Green Tara.

The little cogs are diecut from the new foil and cut for the Go Press n Foil machine.  I really need to pull that machine out and use it a little more!

Here is a closer look

To make my birdcage look a little aged, I added some gold foil to it.  This is super easy to do.  All I did was add little bits of glue to the chippy and then let it get tacky.  Don't let it dry too much it still needs to be able to grab the foil.  I then used the Couture Creations foil and pressed the silver side into the glue and then gently pulled it off.  It leaves some of the gold foiling behind and creates a fantastic look.

Here is another look from a different angle.

Thanks again for stopping by.

Everyday Moments - Layout

Hello scrappy friends and welcome!

Today I have a layout to share with you that I created a wile ago now.  This layout just kinda fell into place without much effort.  Sometimes that just happens.  More often than not it doesn't lol!

It's a bit of a "bitsa" layout were I have used lots of different bits and pieces and just kind of coordinated it myself.

I started using a pretty stencil with my distress inks.  Then I had a super cool flourish that I had cut on my cameo so I coloured that and added some pen marks.

From there I had a new stamp I was itching to use.  It's the one that looks like string so I stamped that and them moved onto embellishing my page.  I used a couple of chippy pieces I had left over from previous layouts.  Added my flowers and the sentiment I cut from my cameo.

It felt really good to just start from scratch with no collection as such as a starting point.  Just some bits and pieces laying around on my desk.

Thanks for stopping by.

Until next time

Pretty cards with Spellbinders Cut and Emboss

Hello and welcome back.

So as some of you may know, I have a really love of embossing folders.  I don't know what it is about them but for some reason I just love them.  It's not like I use them a lot but they are the one thing (aside for doilies and flowers) that I can't seem to walk pass at a scrappy shop.

So when I seen these ones that cut as well as emboss - well I was beside myself!

These awesome folders are from Spellbinders.  I only have 3 at the moment but yep, there is a few more on the way.

Here are the cards I made with them.

They look so good with some pretty glitter paper behind them or some gold card.

I teamed them up with some pintable diecuts that I cut out on my cameo and some chippy from Scrap Matts and quick as quick, they were done!

Think this last one may be my favourite.  Love that pretty little tulle flower from D-lish Scraps.

Thanks so my for stopping by

Until next time

Us - Cocoa Vanilla

Hello and thank you so much for stopping by.

I found some time this afternoon to get a little scrappy with the super pretty new collection from Cocoa Vanilla - Midnight.

I also have prepared a short little walk through video as to how I created my layout just for a bit of fun.

 Enjoy!

Some close ups too!

Thanks so much for stopping by

Celebr8 - A Beautiful Life!

Hello paper friends!

Thanks for popping by.

I was fortunate enough to be ask to guest design for Celebr8 South Africa this month.  Wow how excited was I!  I got to play with the super pretty A Beautiful Life collection.  Oh my so many pretty things in this gorgeous paper line.

So I got busy and created 3 layouts

Here is the first one and I think my favourite.

In the paper pack there is a bonus cut apart sheet so I was in my element sitting and fussy cutting all those gorgeous designs.

For my second layout I chose to fussy cut the flower wreath out of one of the 12 x 12 papers.  I then adhered it to a white back ground and stitched a little to highlight the feathers.

For my last layout I focused on a cluster on the left hand side again using some chippy and the pretty cut apart sheets.

I had an absolute blast playing with this lovely range.  If its not at your local papercraft store you need to ask them to get it in for you!

Until next time

More Petite Jardin

Hello scrappers!

Thanks for popping by

I have still been working with the oh so pretty Le Petite Jardin collection from Couture Creations.  It's such a pretty collection!

Today I have scrapped a photo of my hubby.  He works as an Engineer at Curtin University and has just been nominated for an award for Excellence in his field of work.  It is actually quite a big deal with professional photos at work so I snapped this quick pic before he left that morning and decided to scrap it.

I really like the water colour paper in this collection.  Yep I have used flowers and it is a boy page but really I don't care.  I enjoyed creating it and for me that's the main thing :)

Below are a couple of close up shots.

I have also tucked in some of the super sweet velum poinsettias from last years Christmas collection.  I love these!  They are so handy for adding to your clusters and layers.

Until next time

Birthday Cards

Hello and welcome back!

I don't know about you but I have a whole pile of cards I have made over the last few months and they just keep piling up but for some reason when I have an upcoming birthday I like to make a card for that person rather than use one I have already made.  Just feels a little more personal I guess.

So today I have two cards to share.  One is for a lovely lady who comes along to my scrapbook classes and has become a dear friend and the other is for my dear bestie who's birthday it was yesterday.

I grabbed some chippy and some pretty paper and flowers and before I knew it these cards came together quickly!

I fussy cut a few flowers for this one and also added some foil to the birdcage too.

Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time.  Keep crafting

Happy Birthday 18

Welcome paper friends, to my little part of cyberspace.

Today something really different for me.

Different in colours that I would never normally choose and no flowers!  I had these pics to scrap of my boys 18th birthday recently so I decided to be brave and pull out the distress inks and go nuts.

I coloured some white cardstock with the inks and then stamped the stitched circles and cut them out.  Before I stuck them onto my white background I added some stamping for extra interest.

I seem to gravitate toward geometrical shapes when scrapping boys so I pulled this long chippy piece from Dusty Attic and used that as well as the little hearts.  It needed something extra just to finish it off so I decided to add the gold micro beads.

Didn't turn out too bad at all!

Thanks for stopping by

Until next time

White on white scrapping

Hello paper people and welcome back!

I love a nice clean white background.  Its where I seem to feel most comfortable when scrapping.  As much as I love patterned paper I always feel like I am "overloading" my page at times so the white for me just calms things down a little and helps bring your eyes back to the photo.

These next two layouts I created using white embossed card as well as white embellishments.

I love how these turned out and coupled with the white stitching it just has a really fresh feel.

So my next layout is again with embossed squares but this time I have kept them all the same size.  I  really like the white on white with the black and white photos too.  Just soft and pretty.

Both my layouts were teamed up with some Dusty Attic chippy and those little black title words just make it all pop a little.

Until next time

Stay crafty

Cest La Vie

Hello thanks for stopping by my little part of cyberspace today!

Sharing a couple of layouts I created a little while ago now with the very pretty Cest La Vie collection.  Another super pretty collection from Couture Creations.

I used the ephemera pack and the 12 x 12 paper pad and added some metal and chipboard too.

The 12 x 12 paper pad has some beautiful pages in with those really pretty blossoms on. Soft muted tones

This last one I added a bit of stamping around the white space.  I have to admit, I'm not really a fan of how it turned out so I'm thinking of ripping the main part off and popping it onto some white cardstock and then leaving it.  It just looks a little like overload for me :)

Until next time

Sue's Artsy Ephemera

Hi hi!

Hope you are all well

So back in June I was lucky enough to go over to Brisbane for the Scrapbook Expo.  We had the most fantastic weekend.  I went with a friend and also met my dear friend Adriana who I have had the please of working along side of with Couture Creations.

It was the perfect chance to meet up with friends and make new ones too.

While there the very talented Sue Smyth released some Arty Ephemera packs and I was lucky enough to have a play with them.

Here is what I created

How beautiful are those vintage roses!  They remind me of the flowers that bloomed in my nan's garden.

This next one is my favourite I think.  So many pretty little elements to cluster and tuck under and I love that sweet little girl that is nestled in the flowers at the bottom.

This one I made a cluster with a combination of the ephemera using the tag, the flowers and also cutting out the little vintage girl.  She actually had a little chicken sitting on her hand but I fussy cut out one of the butterflies and replaced it with that.

Thanks for stopping by.

Until next time

Misty Mountains by Kaisercraft

Hello and welcome back!

Today I am sharing some layouts I have created using the super pretty Misty Mountains collection by Kaisercraft

Seriously how cute are those kiddos of mine?

I also used my foil machine to foil some elements as well.

This next one has a big cluster of flowers down the side that I made first in one piece and then adhered later.  I added some chippy and some more foiled elements too.

I actually managed to fit three photos on this page and lots of pretties AND you can still see each photo.  Sometimes I find that after I put all the pretty stuff on you end up "searching" for your photo on your layout.

Thanks for stopping by.

Until next time
