Shine Bright with Kaisercraft.

Hello paper people!

Today I have a few layouts to share using the super fun Shine Bright collection.  This paper is so out of my comfort zone (I never scrap with yellow) but I loved the patterns on it.  They were perfect for my son's Year 7 Graduation.

This one would be my favourite out of the 4 I have done.  I am teaching this as a class at Crafty Capers next week.  And if you look closely - not a doily in sight!  I know!  That is just unheard of!!

Here's my next one.  Not sure on this.  Too many patterns maybe?

I love how this turned out!  Just simple lines with some stamping.

I had a little bit of paper left over so came up with this one

Again I'm not really keen on this one either.  But it is what it is.  I tried a little mixed media and I think that is where I went wrong.  I struggle so much with the whole mixed media thing.  I think it is because I am very much a clean lined scrapper and mixed media comes across as just messy.  I just want to clean it up so to speak and I only end up making it worse.  Oh well practice makes perfect they say!

Until next time

Hugs x

Kaisercraft Design Team 2015 Entry

It's that time of the year again - yep, Kaisercraft have their Design Team call happening.   So with much nervousness and crossed fingers, here is my submission.

I chose the new "On Stage" collection for my layout.  I love how I was able to not only use this range for all those school performance for the kids but also just a favourite every day photo of my family.

I have stamped the background paper with a couple of Kaisercraft stamps and different colour inks. I have made a tag and have stamped and done some texture paste as well.  Then I added my embellishments to the tag.  Kind of made it like a big focal point on my page without taking too much away from the photo.

Here is a close up of the tag.

For my step card I chose the beautiful XO collection.  Being as pink is my favourite colour I just had to use this range.  Here is my card.  This card was made with some of the paper collection and the co-ordinating collectables.

The third and final project I created is a canvas with a recessed frame in the middle.  I have used a few Kaisercraft stamps and a stencil to create my background, and lots of blossoms.

Thanks so much for taking the time to look at my application.

Until next time

Jo x

Precious Moments

Good morning paper crafters!  Jo here to share with you a layout I have been working on.

I really like the new Vintage Border die and wanted to create like a lace effect around my page so I cut out a whole bunch of them.

I then laid them side by side to create a frame effect around my page.

The bottom of my page I embellished using the Vintage Roses die.  I cut several of these with pink and green papers from the 12 x 12 paper pad but just cut the top of the pink roses off and layered them over the green bottoms.  I then bent them a little so that they didn't all look too uniformed.

Here is a close up of the other details in my page.  Under the photo you can see is the gorgeous Love Abounds die (just like a doily :)).  I have created a frame using my Vintage Signs nesting dies.  This was a large photo with a lot on it so by using a frame it breaks the photo up a bit and also draws in the eye in.  The chipboard title and the little balloons are from our good friends at Imaginarium Designs.

Thanks for looking.  Until next time

Kaisercraft On Stage

Good afternoon!  And a happy Friday to all!  Yippee its the weekend which means a little more time to get my scrap on.

This week I have been playing with the gorgeous new On Stage papers from Kaisercraft.  I must admit when I was given these to create a class with it had me a little stumped, but I was really surprised and pleased with what I ended up creating.

What a stroke of luck that these pics just went perfect with the paper!!  My dear little people at the school performance at Crown performing Cat in the Hat.

This next layout is the page that I am teaching at Crafty Capers.

These papers work just perfect for concert photos.  Here is my daughters first night out at a concert.  Yep she is a big Guy Sebastian fan.  I had a little play with some texture paste and some stencilling on this one.

Thanks for popping by.

I hope I have inspired you in some way to perhaps look at papers that may be a little challenging and not something that you would normal use.  Give it a go!  Step out of your comfort zone :)

Until next time

Kaisercraft Blue Bay

Hello and  thanks so much for stopping by my little part of cyberspace :)

I was lucky enough to be given some of the gorgeous Blue Bay papers to play with this week.  Here is what I came up with.

I love the teal/blue tones in this collection.  I also pulled out some stamps and had a bit of a play with some ink splattering too.

I love the simple lines of this layout.  I did think about adding some stamping and mists but really like the soft feel of it all.  The frames and doors had me stumped for a little while but I think I managed to tie it all together in the end!.

Until next time!

Kaisercraft Betsy's Couture

Hey friends!

This week I have been playing with the gorgeous Betsy's Couture range from Kaisercraft.  I love these papers!  Here is what I have created.

I love that these papers are versatile in that they work perfect for modern day photos and also vintage photos too.  This pic was taken on the night my husband proposed to me!

Here is a close up of some of the details and the layering.  I have used one of the new Frills doily set from Couture Creations.  The embellishments were kept simple.  This layout was actually created from scraps from the next two layouts!

Perfect example of how these papers are just right for vintage pics.  The chipboard frame is a spellbinder frame and I have cut it in half and stretched it to make it appear actually bigger than it really is.

I love the grand lady that was just begging to be fussy cut and I have popped her up on mounting foam to give her some depth.

Here's my last one.  Another one of my dear nan and pop.  To give it a bit of a shabby look I have tucked some muslin underneath my photo.  The Tim Holtz ornate book plate went perfect with these papers.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Day layout with Vintage Rose

Hello paper people!  Thanks for popping by.  Today I have a layout to share with you using some of the gorgeous new release dies from Couture Creations and the gorgeous Vintage Rose papers.  Yep still having a blast playing with these divine papers!

Here is a quick picture tutorial as to how I created my patchwork background.

Using the Diamonds Nesting Dies from the new Sweet Accents collection I cut out a heap and then cut some in half and stitched (yep hand stitched, crazy I know!) around each piece.  You can see from the pics how the rest of the background came together.

I have tucked two doilies under my photo mat - Cappucino die  and also one of the longer border dies Chandeliers Set.  These are a couple of older dies from the Momento collection.

Here is a close up of that gorgeous new frame die.

Its called Tomentosa from the Hearts Ease collection.  I have cut it out twice with cereal boxes and stuck them together.  I then inked it in a pretty pink to match and used my Glitzin Glamour to add some sparkle.   Too sweet!  The rest of my embellishing was kept very simple.  I fussy cut a few flowers from the paper pad.  I have used the Daffodil Spray die for a bit of foliage.

I have written the date on a piece of paper and then used another new die from the Hearts Ease collection.  This is called Maviensis.

For my title I used another new die from the Everyday Essentials collection.  Script - Happy Birthday.  Instead of using it for birthday cards I thought it would be perfect for pages so I cut the "birth" part off.

Finished off with a few pearl clusters and my layout is complete.

Thanks for letting me share.  Hope I have inspired you all in some small way.

Until next time

Hearts Ease Cards

Hello friends, its Jo back again to share with you a couple of cards I have been making.

These cards I have made using some of the new dies from the beautiful Hearts Ease collection and Vintage Rose papers

Here is a close up of my first cards

This is a centre step card.  I love to make these cards when you have something really pretty to display as your focal point on your card and these gorgeous dies are just  the thing!  There is lots of tutorials around on how to make step cards.  Below is a pic of the supplies I have used to make both my cards.

And here is my second card.

I have used the same supplies to create this card.

Thanks for stopping by.
