Mixed Media

Hey friends!

Well we are almost at the end of summer holidays here in Australia.  I wish we had just a couple more weeks.  I truly love having the kids home and having no routine.  We have had a great time off together but they are now all ready to go back to school.  Bags are packed and supplies are sorted just ready for next week.

Over the holidays I have had a chance to have a bit of a play with some mixed media on my layouts.  I found it a lot of fun using inks and texture paste along with some stamping and mists.  Here is my page.

Still takes a little while to get used to.  I kind of feel like my background papers are dirty and marked.  Just a bit different to my clean lines kind of scraping.  I really enjoyed it tho and then got my hands dirty again with a canvas.

I have used the really pretty Enchanted papers from Kaiser and also a Julie Nutting doll stamp.  She was lots of fun to create.  I paper pieced her dress and shows and then coloured the rest.  Here is a close up of my doll.

And a little close up of the embellishment cluster

Thanks for popping by.  Take care.

Baby Girl Layout

Hello and Happy New Year!!

I hope this post finds you all refreshed and ready for another fun filled year!

Today I have a layout to share with you with lots of Couture goodness.

There is new release dies and embossing folders on this page, so let me share.

First is the amazing Look Into My Window Die from the new Secret Treasures Collection.  This is great not only for your layouts but also makes the most stunning cards.  Here is a close up of how I have used it on my page.

This is what the frame looks like after it has been run through your die cutting machine

By cutting off the bottom part and layering  it with some foam tape I was able to create the window sill.  I then slid one side under my photo and popped my little girl embellishment behind the window.

Using the new doily die Lotus Filet from the Madeline Collection I cut two out of my patterned paper and tucked them under my layout.  To add a little bit of extra interest I used the end of my doily to create a curtain effect on my window frame.  I have also inked around the edges.

Here is another couple of close up shots

I have tucked under my photo one of the new embossing folders from the Harmony Collection - Project Journal Cards.  This folder is FANTASTIC!  Not only does it give you somewhere to journal but the top part of the folder has dates and months of the year.

Also in the Secret Treasures collection is some awesome ornate shape dies.  The one I have used here is the Ornate Rectangle die.  I love to cut these shapes in half and just tuck them under.  It gives your layout a great layered effect.  I have used this die at the top of the page to sit my banners and butterfly on and also just near the lacy doily die.  This looks particularly good when using Co-ordinations cardstock and sanding back to show the border around the frame.

And finally just to add a bit of extra interest and create some more layers I used my nesting circles dies and made a couple of circle frames and just tucked them under too.

I have had so much fun playing with some of these new goodies.  Thanks so much for letting me share.

Until next time

Pion Papers

Helloooooo!

Thanks for popping by.  Just before Christmas I popped into my local scrap shop and picked up the new papers from Pion Designs.  Victorian Gardens it is called.  I have always admired Pion papers but don't very often do much with them as they just seem to pretty to cut up.  I fell in love with the soft blues and creams in this collection.  It also had some pink in as well (and we all know how much I love pink :))  Anyways, this is what I came up with.

I did a little masking with some soft ink and also used the Kaiser background stamp for a bit of extra interest as well.

Something else I tried was using two smaller pics as a bit of an extra embellishment toward the bottom of my page.

I was really happy with how this turned out and now looking forward to doing something with the other papers in the pink tones.

Until next time

Christmas Layout

Hello friends!

I hope this post finds you all well and happy after what has been no doubt a busy Christmas and New Year Season.  Merry Christmas to you all and I hope you all have had a wonderful start to the new year.

My Christmas was very quiet as was my New Year which has left me some time to get lots of scrapping done.

I have now finished all my projects for CHA and have had a bit of time just for me.

Here is a Christmas layout I have completed. Yep the photo is from Christmas a few years ago.  I'm still so far behind!

I have used one of the Kaisercraft Christmas papers for this layout along with the collectables.  I love the bright colours of this also with a touch of blue thrown in too.

Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time
