Brayered Backgrounds with Couture Folders

Hi everyone, its Jo and its my turn on the Couture blog again today.

I have a couple of cards to share today with a quick rundown on how I made the background papers.

Here's what you will need

Using your brayer roll half in one colour of your ink and the other half in the other colour.  Then very gently roll over your embossing  folder.

The folder I have used to demonstrate is the Tied Together folder.  I used the side that has the "Couture Creations" label printed on it.  This way it will colour the background and the embossed parts will remain white and embossed.   You can also reverse it and ink up the other side and this will leave your background white and the embossed parts coloured.

Just a word of warning, don't use a Stazon inkpad on your folders or it wont come off.  I find the distress inks the best as they just wipe off with a wet wipe or even run your folder under the tap.

Now its just a case of gently placing your cardstock in your folder and running it through your Cuttlebug.  I have just used a non textured white cardstock but this technique would look fab with a pale colour card too!

This is great for making your own background papers for not just cards but also for your scrapbooking pages.

Thanks for letting me share!

Until next time
