Busy days

Another week gone! Can you believe there is only one week until Easter? It only seems like a couple of weeks ago we had Christmas.
Feel like I have been chasing my tail all week. The children have had lots of fun activities on at school with discos, and dress up days so this week has really flown. I did manage to get a layout done and get another card class organised. I decided to pull my cricut out and have a play. It actually wanted to play nice this time. Oh we do have a love/hate relationship me and my cricut! Anyways, this is what I came up with. I was quite pleased with how they turned out.
I have been trying to focus on scrapping some of my boys photos. I really struggle with scrapping for the boys so I tend to just do the girly pages but I had these photo's of when Josh won his book award at school way back in year 1 (he is now in year 6!). Love this cute paper from Kaisercraft! It's the new Tiny Woods paper line.
I entered this layout into a challenge over at www.sassyscrapper.com.au.
And speaking of challenges, feeling really stoked at the moment, I came 1st runner up in the March challenge over at Bella! How cool!
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful and safe weekend!

A few layouts

Hey friends!

WOW! It's been a super busy couple of weeks. With working and teaching from home and then throw children into the mix, I am well and truly looking forward to holidays in a couple of weeks time.

My classes are really starting to take off. I am really enjoying getting together with these lovely ladies every week and can see some beautiful friendships forming. It is so rewarding for me to see them really appreciate my work and still spins me out that they think it is good enough to copy!

I have a few layouts to share today. This first one I can't take all the credit for. I seen the sketch in the Kaisercraft magazine and tweaked it a bit to make it my own. How cool are those paint splatters. It's actually a template. I could never get my paint splattering to look this good. You can get these at www.madaboutscrappin.com

I have used the new Kaisercraft Tiger Lilly range for this next layout. I was a little hesitant to use them at first. I’m not a big fan of orange but as it had pink in it as well I HAD to have it. I also don't use black a lot in my scrapping either so it was a bit of a challenge. The photo's went perfectly and I’m actually really pleased with how it has come out.

I used the sketch in the Kaisercraft magazine for this one too and just changed it a little. I just love this paper line and I have done quite a few layouts and cards with it. Reminds me of my days with Holly Hobbie when I was growing up.

Just before I go, I wanted to share a couple of photo’s with you. It was my little girl’s 9th birthday last week. We had an afternoon tea for her with 6 of her little friends. These are the lolly bags I made for her her little friends to take home.

And here she is with her fairy cupcake tower!

I just love this last photo. Anybody who knows our little girl knows of her love for shoes. I have no idea where this has come fro, but from the age of about 3 she has been absolutely fascinated with shoes. She saves her pocket money for them. She lives and breathes shoes. Check out her little face when she opens one of her presents to find a new pair of shoes. Just priceless!

Sorry it’s been such a long post. Hope I haven’t put you to sleep. I should of suggested a coffee before your started. You will definately need one now! hehehe. Have a wonderful weekend and hope you get some time for scrapping!

Cards and more cards!

Hey friends
Well I have been on a roll this week with cards. It's funny because sometimes I can sit for hours and not have any idea where to start making a card unless it involves a colour image. This week it has just flowed for me. Love it! I got down and inky. Pulled out some stamps and Tim Holtz inkpads and this is what I came up with.
I love the colours that these inks give and they blend so well. Also got to try a few stamping techniques that I haven't done for a long time.
The second lot was just playing around with my cuttlebug and some stamping.
I was super excited to hear that I also won a challenge this week. I entered into a challenge on Facebook (Scrap It With Attitude the page is called) . We had to make a card. I entered my card with the cake and candle box and guess what? I WON!!! How cool is that. If you havent checked out this page on Facebook, have a look. There are some lovely people on there and so much inspiration.
Thanks for stopping by. Stay scrap happy!

Weekend is over

Hey friends!
Well the long weekend is over :( Why did it go so fast? I have had 5 days off work and it still went sooo quick.
Its been another hot few days and I am finally fed up of summer. While friends on the east coast of Australia are battling floods, we here in the West are definately having a long hot summer. Another week of mid to high 30's is expected this week. YUK!
I did receive some really exciting news this morning but I can't say what yet. Im sworn to secrecy for a little bit longer. But rest assured you will all be the first to know when I am allowed to spill the beans!
Anyway onto some scrapping. This is what I finished on Friday night
I'm really pleased with how this turned out. Even if it took me longer to stitch the around the paper than it did to put the rest of it together! Stupid sewing machine! I really don't do sewing at all. Besides that's what I have a mum for right? This layout I have entered into the Bella challenge.
Enjoy your week and thanks for stopping by!

Cake Card

Hey friends!
Another week has flown by, but thought I would quickly show you what I have been up to this week.
I can't take full credit for this cause I found it on a craft blog out there. From memory it was a german blog and I can't for the life of me remember who's it was. I thought it was super cute and had to give it a go. It folds down so you can pop it in a box for postage. Cute hey?
This is a special order for my cousin. Hope she likes it!
Not much in the way of scrapbooking this week. Half way through a layout that I thought I would enter into the Bella challenge. Will post a pic over the weekend. We have a long weekend here in Perth this weekend so hoping to get lots down. I have a heap of kits to make up for my classes for the next few weeks and I really want to get down and create.
Whatever you are doing this weekend make it a good one and hope you have time to get a little scrapbooking in.
Thanks for stopping by!
